Work continues without the interruption of rain, and I’m thankful for that. A few more workers have joined the team and you can see the expansion of camping arrangements in the movie below.
The creation of a stable pouring surface for a raised concrete floor, by connecting beams to columns and then using bamboo poles to support the weight is a major undertaking. Plywood needs to cover the entire surface so that wet concrete doesn’t fall onto the floor below. There can’t be any weak areas otherwise the floor will bend under the weight. And steel mesh and rebar has to be placed strategically throughout to bind the concrete to the steel for long-term strength.
Slowly we are seeing a building reveal itself, as the bamboo supports are taken away and moved to the next floor, as the structure rises.
