Sauntering along, encountering the elderly

I do my best to take a walk each and every morning. Fortunately a lovely trail begins directly across the road from here. It starts among the rice fields, crosses a large stream (over a bridge), and then curves along more rice fields until it meets a paved road. The entire walk is under 30 minutes.

I always try to make eye contact and say “Pagi”, which means morning. Most of the time I get a pleased look or a “Pagi” back.
