2019 was an eventful year in this little section of paradise. Besides the opening of our boutique hotel in June, we witnessed the opening of two other hotels: nearby Wasabi Hotel, and closer to the beach, Shore Amora Canggu, a rugged yet modern hotel / villa complex.
The addition of several restaurants, including nearby Honey, Cactus Cafe, Bali Bowls, and Monsieur Spoon has made our little neighborhood less of an up & coming location and more of a happening spot.
As far as the beach itself goes, at the beginning of 2019 an impressive bridge to Echo Beach was completed, and so instead of wading across an occasionally large stream, it’s now a casual stroll from Pererenan Beach to Echo Beach and vice versa.
Canggu Medical opened a clinic right on Pantai Pererenan road, and so, while we never hope to visit, it’s a nice-to-have feature.
Looking forward, here at Ohana Retreat Bali we are excited about opening a yoga / wedding space, with an panoramic view of the surrounding area, by June of 2020.
We keep hearing about the Potato Head group developing at Pererenan Beach, but they haven’t broken ground quite yet.
