The first step of the project was to get the metal structure into place. In addition we added string lights and a water misting system. The next phase was bringing 31 concrete planter boxes up 3 flights of stairs and to move them into place around the perimeter of the structure.
Then we had to bring up soil and fertilizer and 65 plants:
At the other end of the roof we planted Markiza fruit:
Our task now is to continue to water and monitor the growth of the plants, adding bamboo sticks for support until we can drape them onto the wire mesh, the “roof” of the arbor structure.
